Ramadan is a time for family, community, contemplation and renewal. Around the world, we’re celebrating it with our drivers and passengers to build stronger communities. Here are some of the initiatives happening globally.
In Egypt, Morocco and Algeria, we’ve launched a drivers’ contest, where top platinum drivers are rewarded with gold coins, Eid Al Fitr clothing vouchers for them and their children, fuel vouchers and bonuses. In Egypt, the awards will be presented during an Iftar event at the end of Ramadan; drivers and their families attend and the children are entertained with Ramadan activities, competitions and bundles of toys. It's all about family, supporting our driver communities and, at the same time, ensuring that as the number of people traveling surges, there are enough drivers to meet the need.
Then in Algeria, we’ve once again partnered with the NGO Win Nelka for their 2026 Ramadan initiative, which strengthens community support and generates concrete social and economic benefits for vulnerable communities across Algeria. During Ramadan, for each trip taken via the app, the passenger can collect five Fanous to donate towards funding more than 10,240 iftar meals and food parcels for patient caregivers and emergency services in several hospitals
across the country.
In Nigeria, our “Shukran” campaign sees that our Muslim drivers who are working throughout Ramadan receive curated Ramadan food hampers and thank-you cards. Here our aim is to give practical support during long fasting days. And in Indonesia, we held our annual inDrive Ramadan Iftar Gathering. This is where we
communicate our initiatives supporting driver partners in the coming year and reaffirm our commitment to improving their welfare. We also awarded our top drivers for their work over this period and shared their inspiring stories with government stakeholders, our driver partners and the media.
Finally, in Malaysia, we once again teamed up with our partner drivers, this time to
distribute warm meals to frontline workers and communities at eight locations across Kuala Lumpur. Last year, one of our inDriveans described this as one of her favourite initiatives: “Meeting people from all walks of life, and distributing porridge and dates, through both scorching sun and heavy rain was an experience we won’t forget. What made it even more special was the unwavering support of our partner drivers, who volunteered alongside us. It was truly a testament to the power of community.”
The power of community – that’s what it’s all about. Wherever you find yourself this Ramadan, we wish you a peaceful, happy year.
Ramadan Kareem!
