inDrive launches unique bidding model in Crossroads of America, emphasizing rideshare transparency and cultivating rider, passenger relationships
inDrive, a ride-sharing service and global mobility platform, today announced Indianapolis as its first expansion to the Midwest and third U.S. market. The company, which is most known for its unique bid-based model, enables passengers to select drivers to negotiate and agree to prices for specific rides, adding an elevated sense of transparency and fairness among transactions. Following inDrive’s U.S. debut in South Florida last July and launch in Tallahassee this September, the company celebrates more than 240 million downloads in 46 countries around the world and is rapidly expanding its footprint in cities across the U.S.
“We hope locals and tourists alike embrace inDrive’s unique model to foster honest and fair conversations between riders and drivers when traveling to nearby cities, local hotspots and attractions,” said Adam Warner, Head of US Operations.
inDrive anticipates Indianapolis will be quick to embrace inDrive, as the city has welcomed gig economy ride-hailing services with open arms in recent years. The company offers a fresh alternative for gig economy workers and passengers through a commission-based model where both driver and passenger agree on a fare price. inDrive features an operational fee of 19.7% over the course of the first six months, though Indianapolis drivers will keep 80.3% percent of the total fare, ensuring a more substantial and fair wage. This, of course, contrasts other rideshare commission models where drivers are assured 70% of earnings, but only after operational expenses and a 30 percent commission are subtracted.
How it Works: Benefits for Drivers and Passengers
Ever since its founding in 2012, inDrive has consistently prided itself on being a people-first company by creating equal and fair opportunities for drivers and passengers alike. Through its innovative bidding and pricing model, the company has achieved global transparency as a ridesharing service, developing a mutually beneficial arrangement built on trust and loyalty.
-Once registered, a passenger can input their preferred pickup and drop-off location(s), select the desired auto class and vehicle size, and suggest a price for the trip.
-Counteroffers or agreements from available drivers are displayed on the screen, prompting the passenger to select the offer that best suits them in terms of cost, driver rating and vehicle model.
inDrive has transformed the ride-sharing industry by introducing transparency and fairness between rider and driver. The platform is currently the 2nd most downloaded ride-hailing application and 4th most downloaded travel application globally. In addition to consumer benefits, inDrive's model increases a driver's earning potential by allowing them to only accept trips and fares they are comfortable with. Available through its driver base, inDrive also features an extensive fleet of vehicle classes that are ready to meet the various needs of individual riders and groups in Indianapolis. Riders can choose from inDrive, Comfort, inDrive Pet, and inDrive XL.
