My name is Martha Ramírez Velázquez. My stage name is Martha Rave. I'm a voice actress and voiceover artist. I'm fifty-four years old, and this is my life.
My day starts around 4 in the morning. I get to my first booking, and depending on how many lines I have, I move on to the next studio — and then the next.
A tool she almost never found
People told me that because of my age I wouldn't be able to do voiceovers. That at almost forty, it wasn't the "ideal" time to start. I heard that so many times.
But I put in every bit of effort to make it happen.
Balancing being a mom, a homemaker, and doing voiceover work was difficult — but you adjust. Since gigs vary in length, I use my free time to take care of things at home, because I love that too. I love my family.
Always moving
