In a recent study, inDrive.Couriers analyzed 5,000 comments that Peruvians left in the app, to see what people are sending via courier delivery. Food and beverages came in first place (22%), including “35 kg of fish", "100 kg of potatoes" and even "a whole cow”! Clothing and accessories (14%) came in second; documents and stationery (13%) third, and health and beauty items (8%) tied with other purchases (8%) for the remaining places. Peruvians also tended to order the delivery of tools and hardware, electronics, household goods, and toys.
One thing that became apparent: many deliveries are precious and heartfelt, even when they’re not especially valuable (“Take my heart out and take it to my mom” was the comment for a flower delivery.)
So inDrive.Couriers compiled some tips to ensure safe delivery:
-Label your item with the recipient's name and address, so it doesn’t get confused with other deliveries.
-Take a photo of your package to document its condition and how it was packed.
-Camouflage the contents of your package. For example, if you send a piece of paper or something small, put it inside a book.
-Get creative: Wrap your packages with recycled materials. You can use tins, jars, or wooden boxes and decorate them to your liking. And if your item is fragile, pack it in such a way that it could survive a fall (e.g. use a firm container and a lot of padding for shock absorption). And make sure the courier knows it’s fragile!
-Always check the courier's rating and comments whenever you request a delivery.
-Choose the right vehicle to transport your items. For example, if you’re having “35kg of fish” or “a whole cow” delivered, you’re obviously going to need a vehicle that can handle this (not, say, an on-foot delivery!)
And that’s a wrap! Now it’s time to send your parcel - or your heart! - to its rightful owner.
