Sandra has many memories from her life as an inDrive driver. “One day there was a service that had a long wait time, and it was because they had to take a German shepherd dog – it was big and nobody wanted to take it,’” she says.
“Another time, I took a groom to church, because the transportation that was going to take him did not arrive. I also took a very, very sick child to the clinic, and sometimes I was a shoulder to cry on. Yes, I have had many experiences, some happy, some sad, some with a happy ending and others that left me with a lot of iuncertainty.
“I also think that I left in many people the desire to take on their own experiences and move forward.”
Now she is the face of our Doña Justa campaign in Peru, which seeks to put mobility decisions directly in the hands of the community, empowering users to negotiate prices. “The character of Doña Justa stands for our commitment to fairness and empowerment,” says Paola Cotrina, our Communications Manager for Peru.
“This campaign has meant a lot,” says Sandra. “it has given us women the opportunity to realize that we can take on challenges and get ahead, to empower ourselves and generate our own income for our families.”
It was this need that led her to join the inDrive platform as a driver, more than four years ago. “I decided to use InDrive for several reasons,” she says. “The ease of using the application, the low commissions, deposit in cash and daily and above all, because of the flexibility of the schedule, since it allows me to organize my time as a housewife and as a driver.”
And yes, she’s still driving – so if you’re taking an inDrive in Peru, maybe you’ll meet her! “The people I have had as passengers have been very important and interesting. I have learned something from all of them,” she says.
