Happy birthday inDrive! 5 surprises this year this year has brought

Happy birthday to us – and it’s a big one! The last few months seem to have been packed with memorable milestones and new endeavors, so much so that we thought it was time for a quick recap of some of the new and exciting things that have happened lately. So, did you know that…

  1. We’re present in 1200+ cities  around the world

Not bad for a company born far, far away from the likes of Silicon Valley, in a city famous mainly for being the world’s coldest. Yakutsk’s freezing winter plays a key role in our origin story –  and it’s part of the reason we’re built so tough and lean.

2. Screen time: We featured on the 1,000th episode of NYSE Wired

Seeing our story on the screens of the New York Stock Exchange was a real thrill. Yakutsk is well and truly on the map now!  Watch the NYSE Wired interview here

3. We’ve set our of vision for AV-powered future in emerging markets

During the NYSE Wired interview, Arsen used the opportunity to discuss inDrive’s new AV Manifesto, arguing that the future of autonomous mobility includes cities like Almaty, Lagos, Lima and Mexico city (not just the likes of San Francisco and Dubai). He argues that rather than being replaced, drivers can and should become owners and operators of autonomous fleets. The goal is to create opportunities for millions of people, not eliminate their place in the chain.

4. Unicorns united: we’re part of the World Economic Forum’s Unicorn Community

The World Economic Forum’s Unicorn Community is an invitation-only group of high-growth companies, so joining it is a valuable opportunity to join discussions on how the future of digital economies is being shaped, and advocate for a more fair and transparent model.

5. We celebrated some of our sporting heroes

inDrive is packed with talent – and not just the techie kind. As we discovered in the most recent issue of inFaces (inDrive’s web magazine about the people who make us who we are), many of our incredible team members are also dedicated athletes, who take the lessons they learn on the field/track/mountain/board to the office. As our CEO says, sport doesn’t just train the body; it helps you to find your inner drive.

6. We’re a (sport-obsessed, idealistic, ambitious) teenager!

In June we are officially entering our teen years.

Over the past 13 years, we’ve expanded to 1200+ cities in 48 countries, evolved into a superapp offering multiple services, and defined and developed our values. We’re young and idealistic, and we’ve really come a long way – but we’re not stopping there.

Here’s to each of you who have helped us get this far, and to all the amazing developments ahead!
