We’ve covered many stories of our drivers and employees, but what about our passengers? It’s time we heard from them, too. So here’s Dasha, a climber and tourism student finding herself through movement. For her, every trip is a step toward personal growth.
There’s a place I keep coming back to – Tamgaly-Tas. You won’t find it on the map right away, and getting there feels like flying to another planet. No buses go there, and that makes the trip almost impossible. But I go anyway. Because I truly need to be there.
I’m 25, I study tourism and practice climbing. I constantly need to move. Not just physically – traveling, walking, climbing. I need to move inside, grow, overcome myself. In this sense, climbing is like meditation for me. It’s not just a hobby, it’s a lifestyle. When you’re alone with the route, you’re alone with yourself.
I first got into the mountains in 2023. It was when I started reconnecting with my dad. He’s an alpinist, he knows this world well. We went to the mountains as a family. They gave me my first helmet, harness, and said, “Come on, try it.” I didn’t know anything, had zero climbing experience, and to be honest, I was scared. But not climbing wasn’t an option. Saying “let me down” wasn’t either.
I completed my first route. Since then, a lot has changed. I realized that climbing isn’t about strength – it’s about overcoming fear. About learning to listen to yourself. Sometimes you think, “This is impossible, I can’t do it.” But then you take a step, breathe, try – and suddenly you’re higher than you expected.
I started teaching English unexpectedly. I never thought I’d teach, and my level wasn’t great. But after a trip to the U.S., my English improved, I came back home, and got offered a job. It turned out to be a lot like climbing. You’re afraid to make mistakes, it’s uncomfortable. But without leaving that comfort zone – you don’t grow. Mistakes, falls, fear – they’re all part of the journey. And through them, confidence comes.
Now I’m thinking about the mountains again, I want to climb. It’s far, and I don’t have my own car. But I’m glad there’s a choice. inDrive might be just a ride – but for me, it’s a whole journey to myself. I can choose my driver, my route, and go wherever my heart calls. And it’s important for me to feel safe, to be on my own terms.
