Eleven years ago, Ahmed set out on a new career path. Today, he manages four hotels. Here’s how he made that journey.
I began my career with nothing but a notebook, a pen, and a hotel badge. Today, I am still moving forward, but the scale of my journey has changed completely.
My name is Ahmed, and I am 34 years old. Although I studied engineering, I realized early on that my true passion was being around people—hearing their stories, learning their languages, and gaining new perspectives. This passion led me to the tourism industry.
I didn’t start at the top. My first role was an internship at a hotel in Sharm El Sheikh. I still remember a pivotal moment when a Russian guest asked me a question that I couldn't understand. She eventually walked away, leaving me standing there. That day, I made a promise to myself that I would never let a word slip by me again. Without formal classes, I taught myself English, Italian, and Russian through sheer patience and practice.
Through years of hard work and determination, I rose through the ranks. I went from that first internship to managing teams and becoming responsible for the operations of four hotels.
Despite everything I have achieved, my day still begins with a journey, and that journey is always with inDrive. It’s become part of my professional and personal life. I value the autonomy the platform provides—I am the one who selects my driver and determines the price. It allows me to arrive on my own terms.
Beyond the convenience, I choose inDrive for the sense of safety and the quiet moments it offers me to think and unwind. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to have a strong support system: my wife, my siblings, and even the drivers I meet. One driver, Captain Omar, became more than just a service provider; after meeting several times, he became a true friend.
Life teaches you to work, to grow, and to never stop moving. Every ride I have taken has been a step forward, helping me reach the position I hold today.
